Hello, everyone. Just wanted to let you know that myEtsy shop will be getting a new look. Etsy is revamping the format for the store fronts which means I get to update how my graphics. The new store front will be visible April 5th. But in the mean time, the photo above is a sneak peak of my new shop logo. What do you think?
So I recently found a pair of 1940's pumps on Etsy........Needless to say I bought them.
Yay! Hooray! I'm giving out a coupon code for my Etsy shop!
My good friends know that cheesecake is my favorite dessert. So I got a good laugh when for my birthday a friend sent me a video of the Muppets singing the Cheesecake song, but today I wanted to share with you Louis Armstrong with Bing Crosby singing the Cheesecake song.
Anyway, I should probably also say something about sewing or vintage items before I close this post. (Though surely Louis Armstrong and Bing Crosby can be classified as fitting in retro culture?)
So I just recently finished reading Forties Fashion: From Siren Suits to the New Look by Jonathan Walford, a book I got for Christmas. To put my thoughts simply, this book provides a really good overview of what was going on in the fashion world leading up to World War II, during World War II, and immediately following.
Oh, boy. It's Monday again and not a post in sight. One of these days I will have posts planned out in advance again......
Technical difficulties resolved, my shop is now open! (cue confetti and fireworks) There is still work to be done, but hooray!
Sarah loves to sew, learn more about sewing, and create items with a vintage flair. Her arch enemy is clipping curves, and she has a tolerable relationship with the seam ripper.
