So you got to hear last week about my 1860's dress project...
As you can tell I am expanding my horizons beyond merely the swing era of the 1940's. I have noticed over the past few months how my interest has grown in other periods of fashion history. My focus is still going to be on the 1940's, but not exclusively. I don't know how much of this expanding interest will actually get made up into actual garments, but I am certainly looking forward to delving into the history of fashion across decades and centuries.
The Dreamstress did a post not that long ago about the reusing of fashion ideas from earlier eras. This is certainly a continuing phenomena with retro being an in fashion trend. So if you are interested in this topic, I would recommend checking out that post!
So what are your favorite eras of historic fashion, and what drew you to them?
Sarah loves to sew, learn more about sewing, and create items with a vintage flair. Her arch enemy is clipping curves, and she has a tolerable relationship with the seam ripper.
