Today I would like to introduce you to my hat collection. I think anyone in the vintage fashion world knows that it is the details such as hat and gloves that make or break a vintage outfit.
I picked up this hat at my local antique mall a couple of years ago. While dating the hat cannot be completely conclusive, it is likely a 1940's tilt hat. It could have been worn titled over the face or face/side or tilted up over the back of the head.
I actually trimmed this hat. I bought a cheap hat base and decorated it to be used as a 1940's tilt/doll hat.
I don't know the vintage of this hat, but I love it. I also picked this one up at the antique mall. From a similar hat I saw on Etsy today, this might be from the 1970's or 1980's, but I think it works well for a 1940's impression with the jaunty brim and a suit.
This last hat dates from probably the late 1940's to early 1950's.
I hope you enjoyed going through my hat collection. And pardon the poor photography. I certainly have a lot to learn!
Sarah loves to sew, learn more about sewing, and create items with a vintage flair. Her arch enemy is clipping curves, and she has a tolerable relationship with the seam ripper.
