I have begun work on my first real sewing pattern. I decided to take the concept of a tiered skirt, and turn it on its head. (Well, sort of)
The interesting thing about the design is that I dreamed it up. Really. It is really, really strange. That is all I can say.
Anyway.... This is my final design sketch. The main conundrum facing me at the moment is deciding how full I want the skirt to be. I might have to go through a couple test runs to decide that.
This is the first skirt draft that I have done. I need to test this yet, but it will be used as the basis for the pattern if I decide to go with a narrower skirt.
This is take two with greater skirt fullness. I still need to test this one as well, and then decide which skirt profile I prefer. Which would you wear? A narrower skirt or a wider one? And would you be interested in seeing posts that document this journey?
