That is a bit of a mouthful! I think I mentioned several months back that I bought two skirts several sizes to large and that I was going to resize them. Well I resized them awhile ago, but only recently remembered that I should blog about them!
This is a silk/cotton blend skirt that was several. several sizes too large for me. I believe I took something like 6 inches out of the waist. Due to the construction, I stitched 3 inches in from the side starting at the bottom of the skirt working up to the waist stitching through the waistband and then the facing and then down through the lining. Much happier with it now!
This skirt was an elastic waist skirt again several sizes to large. I cut the elastic band off of the skirt. Cut a strip of fabric off the top for the waist band, gathered the skirt into the new waistband and added a zipper to the side. Now I have another skirt in my size!
I assume I am not the only one who has done interesting remodel projects on my clothes. I would love to hear what you have done!
