So Joann's was having one of their pre-Black Friday sales the other day and I made good use of it. I had a sixty percent off coupon for the Total purchase off the notions wall. This is what I bought.
A new retractable tape measure. All the retractable ones I had broke. Urr. So I finally decided to buy a new one. (You must understand that I still had plenty of tape measures, but none so convenient.) The one I bought is a 96 inch tape measure. The cost was the same as a 60 inch, so I decided to go bigger.
Tailors chalk. The chalk pencils are so annoying. You can never sharpen them properly, so skip them and just use the chunks of chalk.
Sewing Machine needles. Duh, right? My family doesn't seem to have any new needles, so I figured while I could get a good deal, I should stock up on a variety of sizes. (Partially, because I never change the needle until it breaks. Oops.)
Seam Ripper: highly essential. I have been borrowing my sisters for the past few weeks because my track record with seam rippers is not any better than retractable tape measures! The first seam ripper I had, I broke. Another oops. The second one I had from my sewing machine got lost. I had it working on a project recently, and then it got lost in the chaos of my room. So, a new seam ripper was very necessary.
Sarah loves to sew, learn more about sewing, and create items with a vintage flair. Her arch enemy is clipping curves, and she has a tolerable relationship with the seam ripper.
